The FCX2 field 
controller is designed to operate a commercial solar tracker field of up to 15 TCX2 solar tracker controllers. Multiple FCX2 controllers may be deployed in a field larger than 15. The FCX2 is based on the TCX2 platform, and packaged with a set of software modules, power supplies and other electrical components to make it a service friendly field controller. In addition to the TCX2 residing within the enclosure, there’s an included commercial field level weather station.

The main features of the FCX2 are as follows:
- Calculates Solar Position using NREL’s published solar position algorithm
- Includes dual power supplies, one for TCX Control Power, and the other for TCX Motor Power.
- RS-485 tracker controller interface using Modbus protocol.
- TCX management, including software updates, limits controls, back-tracking, and motor parameters.
- TCX monitoring such as operational details and fault monitoring and error recovery.
- Ethernet 10/100-Base-T network interface.
- Support to time multiplex tracker move commands.
- Ability to issue local Storm, Clean and Operate commands.
- Motor power supply rating 240W.
- Available in Nema-4x Fiberglass.
- Capable of controlling either a single or dual-axis field.
- Master-Stop to quickly disable field.
